General Education ProgrammeThrough the General Education Programme students become equipped with a range of skills that are honed through nine strands: Literacy, Numeracy, Foreign Language, Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Physical Education/Health/Nutrition, Computer Literacy and Student Development. Courses used to fulfil General Education requirements contain Bahamian content through an understanding of Bahamian culture, society and/or environment. These courses also contain at least two of the following components:

ELECTIVES
To fulfil the elective requirement, students complete at least 18 credits: at least 9 credits at the lower level and 9 credits at the upper level.Generally, students choose electives freely, as the purpose of the elective requirement is to give students the opportunity to explore areas of interest that fall outside the Major (and/or Minor) area of concentration. However, in some programmes electives may be prescribed. Students should refer to the Contract of Study/Student Advisement Form for specific programme requirements.
