Candidates for Executive Director, CHMI




Three candidates have been short-listed for the position of Executive Director, Culinary and Hospitality Management Institute: Dr T. Jennifer Edwards, Dr. Adrilla Horton-Wallace and Ms. Felice Renee McKinney and they will be present on Monday, January 30th, 2012, to meet with members of the College community.


Dr. T. Jennifer Edwards

As a strategic management professional with specialisation in Sustainable Tourism, Dr. Edwards has spent 15 years researching, advising and consulting both nationally and internationally in the area of hospitality and tourism. She has spent the last six years working directly with hospitality and tourism enterprises and stakeholders in The Bahamas, acquiring special insight into operational challenges and deficiencies in the industry. She currently holds the position of International Examination Reviewer/Programme Coordinator/Partner at International Management Centre Association & Revans University. She has both a Pd.D. in Environmentally Managed Tourism and a Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methods from the University of Bradford, a M.Sc. in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey and a B.Sc. in Tourism Management (Honours) from the University of the West Indies.

Dr. Adrilla Horton-Wallace

Dr. Horton-Wallace has extensive experience in organizational development, planning, programme development and training particularly in the hospitality sector. Dr. Horton-Wallace also has a background in higher learning, having served in various leadership capacities at The College of The Bahamas including: Chairperson, Division of Humanities and Coordinator, College English. She is currently Director of Atlantis University, Kerzner International, a position that she has held since 2002. She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration and Organisational Development from Kent State University, a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida Memorial College as well as other professional certifications.

Ms. Felice Renee McKinney

Ms. McKinney is a Human Resources Executive veteran with specialisation in hospitality operations and project management. She commenced her hospitality career in hotel operations and later worked abroad in the United States for four years with the Ministry of Tourism in the capacity as Sales/Marketing Representative. Throughout her career she has held various senior managerial positions in Human Resources namely; Training Manager, Assistant Director of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources & Industrial Relations. She has a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management from Florida International University and an Associate Degree from the Bahamas Hotel Training College in Hotel and Tourism Operation, among other professional certifications.
