Andre Grant, a first year accounting major, became the first recipient of a scholarship from the Certified General Accountants Association of The Bahamas (CGAA) to assist him in his studies at The College of The Bahamas. Mr Roger Forbes, President of CGAA of The Bahamas made the presentation and expressed his hope that this award would continue on an annual basis. He also stated that he hoped an award such as this one would encourage young Bahamians to pursue a career in accounting.

Mr Grant, a graduate of Kingsway Academy, is exceptionally grateful to the CGAA of The Bahamas for their gift and stated that it was tangible proof that there are people in the community who are willing to provide opportunities for young people and to help them along in their chosen fields.

The Certified General Accountants Association of The Bahamas is an affiliate of CGAA of Canada and provides training for people wishing to become accountants or who want to upgrade their accounting qualifications.
