COB Athletes to Represent The Bahamas at CARIFTATwo of The College's young and promising athletes, first year students Tamara Myers and Lorenzo Rolle competed in the BAAA's CARIFTA trials and will represent The Bahamas on the national CARFITA team.
Tamara won the female (under 20) triple-jump competition with a leap of 12.78 metres and also qualified for the Junior Pan Am Games and the World Youth Games. She also placed fourth in the female (under 20) 100 metres race and will also be a member of the 4x100 metres CARIFTA relay team. Lorenzo's javelin throws at previous events secured him a spot on the 2011 CARIFTA team for the under 20 males. The CARIFTA Games are set for April 20-26 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
