Dorms Renovations Complete
Verandah at back of building
Members of The College of The Bahamas Council and Senior Administrative Team toured the newly renovated dormitories at the Residential Campus on Gregory Street on Wednesday, 18th June.
Estates Administrator, Anthony Burrows, explaining just how the renovations were completed in time for Fall Semester 2008 to Colyn Major, Vice President Student Affairs; President Janyne M Hodder; and Donald Saunders, past President of Alumni Association.
Designed to give students in residence a comfortable and relaxing experience while they study, the dormitories mark another piece in The College's jigsaw of improvements and upgrades as it moves towards university status.
There are two units housed in the completely refitted building, each equipped for five students. Upstairs in each unit there are two double bedrooms and one single with individual refrigerators and a bathroom, while the ground floor has a kitchen with laundry facilities, a spacious lounge and a toilet. The units also have a pleasant verandah with tables and chairs for eating, unwinding or studying.
The cost of the renovations which also included rewiring, new plumbing systems, air conditioning and cable installation was $780,000.
