Site Preparation Begins for New Library

We have good news! We are happy to report that beginning Monday 7th April, 2008 Carl G. Treco Construction Company will begin the site preparation for the construction of The Harry C. Moore Library and Information Centre. The construction site, which will be secured by the erection of hoardings, is bounded on the west by Thompson Boulevard, on the south by Tucker Road, on the east by the new faculty/student parking lot, and on the north by the Music Block. As a result, a portion of the parking lot in front of the B Block and the Student Union Building, will be lost. The limited remaining parking spaces in that lot will be designated for use by Sbarros. The bleachers used as a student pick up site will also be lost.

Parking for faculty and students is available in the new parking lot located in T-block area.

CHMI students will not be able to use the gate that comes off the pedestrian crossing, but will need to use the entrance located just a little further east on Tucker Road. In short order, signs will be erected to assist in this effort.

This project brings all of us great joy. So we are counting on the support and patience of all of us: students, employees, and patrons and employees of Sbarro's Restaurant, during this important and necessary process.

Should you have any concerns or request further clarification please contact Anthony Burrows, Estate Administrator at 302-4458 or email aburrows@cob.edu.bs
