Summer 2010 Research, Creative & Artistic Projects
Call for Grant Applications
To expand opportunities for research and creativity within The College of The Bahamas, the College invites faculty to submit proposals for grants for research, creative & artistic projects being undertaken this Summer (2010).

Submissions of grants must be received by Natasha Pyfrom (npyfrom@cob.edu.bs) in the Office of Research, Graduate Programmes & International Relations no later than 4:00 pm on the 6th May 2010. Results will be available by the 18th May 2010.

Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and will be tenable through December 2010. All projects must start before 30th June 2010.

The areas of priority are:
  1. Research projects which are likely to have a demonstrable impact on national development,
  2. Creative or artistic projects which are likely to have a demonstrable impact on national culture,
  3. Proposals from early career faculty (faculty who have worked in the academy for less than 5 years), and
  4. Proposals from faculty with an earned doctorate or faculty in the final phase of doctoral work. (Grants cannot be used to support projects which are part of an academic programme.)

Notwithstanding these priorities, proposals which fall outside these areas will also be considered. It is expected that grants will be in the order of $500 -$1,500, but larger requests will be considered.
