THE COLLEGE OF THE BAHAMAS
SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2012

CALL FOR FILMS

The College of The Bahamas and the Journalism and Communication department proudly announce the Second Annual Short Film Festival.

Whether you're holding a 16mm camera or using your iPhone's Super8 app, you are making history. Such digital-storytelling helps build community. It gives us new ideas about ourselves, helps us feel unique, and shows us what we have in common. The College and its Journalism and Communication Department invite you to join us in celebrating this community-building and the culture of student filmmaking.

The 2012 College of The Bahamas Short Film Festival is open to all students of The College and will showcase our emerging filmmakers in a juried screening of student films. Student filmmakers will have the opportunity to exhibit and view their work on the big screen, meet other COB student filmmakers, film faculty, and network with the Bahamian film community.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions are encouraged across genres, from experimental & microcinema to traditional narrative and documentary. Send us that film your group always wanted to produce, that senior project on which you spent every waking hour or the interesting video you've been meaning to finish editing. If you made the film while you were a COB student, you can also submit it to our film festival.

Submissions must have a running time of 15, 30 or 45 minutes.

Submitting a film is free for all eligible filmmakers. Submissions from non-eligible filmmakers will not be considered.

Submission Process

Regular submissions on DVD-R are due by March 30, 2012 but you need to complete your submission form and turn it in no later than February 10, 2012 before 1:00 PM.
